Spring is almost here! Springtime is a season of growth and renewal. It it a great time to rejuvenate your routines for health and wellness if they have grown stagnant during the cold winter months. Here are a few tips for making the most of spring.

  • Get moving!
Spring is the perfect time to change up your workout routine. If you don’t have one, then start! The weather is starting to warm up so on nice days, you can take it outside. Even a walk if a great way to get moving. Try a new class at the gym or focus on a new goal.

  • Hydrate
As the weather warms up, it becomes even more important to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. If you find it difficult to drink enough, try sparkling water or add some fruit to your water.
    A few combinations we like:
    Strawberry, lemon and basil
    Watermelon and mint
    Strawberry, lime, cucumber and mint

  • Be sun safe
As you head outdoors for some fresh air and Vitamin D, make sure to wear sunscreen. Protecting your skin from sun damage is important.

  • Back safe yard work
Spring is oftentimes when gardening and yard work are a part of your weekend plans! Make sure that you are doing these things safely. You can easily injure your back if you don’t follow back safety gardening tips. Check out our post for more information on injury-free gardening.

  • Enjoy seasonal produce
Spring fruits and vegetables are delicious. Add some in-season, local ingredients to your meals. A few items to add, asparagus, peas, avocado, cherries, strawberries, rhubarb, greens and more! If you haven’t been eating a healthy diet lately, try adding some color to your plate and making an effort to include at least one veggie at each meal. Eating a diet that balances fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, protein and carbs (avoid starchy white flours and sugars and add healthy whole grains- quinoa, brown rice, whole wheat bread etc.)

  • Get adjusted
Start off spring in the best possible health. Visit your Chiropractor to get adjusted. Even if you are not suffering from pain or injury, an adjustment can keep your body functioning at optimal levels. If you are experiencing pain, Chiropractic care can help reduce your symptoms and pain.

We hope spring offers you a new outlook and a growth in your overall health and wellness.
